Moving PowerCenter to the cloud with the mapping logic intact.
We support PowerCenter estates and migrate them to Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud. We also build new Cloud Data Integration pipelines into Snowflake, Databricks and Fabric. Informatica is now part of Salesforce, and we help teams plan for that.
We inventory PowerCenter workflows and convert them to Cloud Data Integration on IDMC or to PowerCenter Cloud Edition, and rebuild whatever the conversion tools can't carry. We also build new pipelines into Snowflake, Databricks and Microsoft Fabric. Salesforce completed its acquisition of Informatica on 18 November 2025. Certified engineers are available onsite in the US or from nearshore and offshore teams, on contract, contract-to-hire or permanent terms.

what we do
Our Informatica work
6 kinds of Informatica work, each run by engineers who have done it on live tenants.
Every folder, workflow, mapping, session and parameter file listed with its run history, so dead jobs are retired before anything is migrated.
Conversion to Cloud Data Integration with Informatica's modernization tooling, then manual rework of what it can't carry, such as custom transformations, shell pre- and post-steps and odd parameter handling.
New mappings and taskflows into Snowflake, Databricks or Microsoft Fabric, with secure agent groups sized and placed near the sources.
Profiling, rules and scorecards in Informatica data quality, and master data work where match and merge rules decide what counts as one customer.
Repository and domain administration, failed session triage and upgrade work while the migration is under way.
PowerCenter and IDMC developers, administrators and data quality engineers, onsite, nearshore or offshore, on contract, contract-to-hire or permanent terms.

We pieced these together from Informatica situations that come up a lot. They're patterns. You won't find a specific client in them.

Six thousand PowerCenter workflows and a data center exit date
composite · not a client story
Beforethe situation
An insurer runs about six thousand PowerCenter workflows on servers in a data center that closes in eighteen months. Nobody knows how many still feed anything.
What we dothe work
We pull run history and target usage from the repository and downstream systems, retire what has no consumer, then push one subject area through the conversion tooling as a pilot. The remaining waves are sized from the pilot's rework rate.
Afterwhere you end up
The migration covers only the workflows that matter, and we build the wave plan from rework we measured.
case file 02
IDMC adopted, but half the team still builds in PowerCenter
composite · not a client story
Beforethe situation
A retailer bought IDMC two years ago. New loads to Snowflake are built there, but legacy loads still run in PowerCenter, and support is split across two teams and two runbooks.
What we dothe work
We map which PowerCenter workflows feed the same Snowflake tables as IDMC jobs and migrate those first, then consolidate monitoring and on-call into one IDMC run model.
Afterwhere you end up
One team supports one platform for the Snowflake loads. PowerCenter shrinks to the jobs already on the retirement schedule.
We don't start a step until the last one has produced something you can check.
step 01
Inventory and usage
We export the PowerCenter repository, list workflows with run history and downstream consumers, and mark what can be retired before migration.
step 02
Pilot wave
A representative folder goes through Informatica's conversion tooling. We record what converted cleanly and what needed rework, then size the rest from that.
step 03
Migration waves
We move workflows in waves by subject area. A PowerCenter job only gets switched off once its old and new outputs match row by row.
step 04
Decommission and handover
We retire the servers and hand your team updated runbooks and IDMC admin procedures. Secure agent monitoring is already in place.
ai on informatica
Where AI fits on Informatica, and where it needs guardrails.
Informatica's AI is CLAIRE, which runs inside IDMC and now includes CLAIRE GPT, CLAIRE Copilot and CLAIRE Agents. On cost, eligible IDMC customers can use them at no IPU cost through 31 January 2027. That covers design work, not runtime. Salesforce, which now owns Informatica, plans to connect its data management to Agentforce and Data 360.

Informaticadoes the work
Informatica doesn't currently publish an official MCP server. Agents can reach IDMC through its REST APIs with a dedicated service user. For us that user gets a narrow IDMC role, limited to reading metadata and starting approved taskflows. Each call is logged, and a person approves mapping changes and production runs.
CLAIRE GPT and CLAIRE Copilot
CLAIRE GPT answers natural-language questions to find data and run data tasks, and CLAIRE Copilot gives guidance inside design work. Admins switch CLAIRE on under Settings in CLAIRE Preferences. Our part is enabling it in a development org first and reviewing what metadata it can see.
CLAIRE Agents
CLAIRE Agents plan work such as discovering data, building pipelines and fixing data quality issues. The free offer covers design and configuration. It doesn't cover running jobs. To us an agent-built pipeline is just another change, so it gets review, tests and promotion through environments.
AI-assisted PowerCenter migration
Informatica's PowerCenter modernization program includes AI-assisted migration tooling for moving to IDMC. We run one subject area through it as a pilot, measure the rework on custom transformations and size the remaining waves from that.
Agentforce and Data 360 plans
Salesforce says it will integrate Informatica's integration, quality, governance, metadata and MDM technology with Agentforce and Data 360. We watch for roadmap and licensing changes at renewal instead of designing around announcements.
Today the source systems feed PowerCenter on-premises. Workflows move across in waves to Cloud Data Integration on IDMC, which loads Snowflake, Databricks and Fabric through secure agents sitting close to the sources.

talent and delivery · informatica
Certified engineers, wherever you need them.
Some clients want a project team, some want a couple of engineers on theirs. Either works. Onsite, nearshore or offshore, with handovers across time zones that keep things moving.
Put these to anyone bidding on your Informatica work. The ones who've done it answer differently from the ones who've read about it.
Q1
How will you find which PowerCenter workflows are still used?
Big estates carry a lot of dead jobs. Retiring them before you migrate is usually the biggest saving on the whole project.
Q2
What share of our mappings will Informatica's tooling convert without rework?
Conversion tools handle standard patterns well. Custom transformations and shell steps need hand work, and a pilot on your folders is the only fair measure.
Q3
How will you prove the new jobs produce the same output as the old ones?
Comparing old and new outputs row by row before cut-over catches the quiet differences in joins, filters and null handling.
Q4
What changes in our Informatica contract now that Salesforce owns it?
Ownership changes usually bring licensing and packaging changes. Know where you stand before renewal, because at renewal is too late to start.
Q5
Where will secure agents run, and who patches them?
IDMC jobs run on secure agents near your sources. Their placement, sizing and patching decide performance and security.
01When does PowerCenter support end?
It depends on your PowerCenter version and your contract. As of our last check, Informatica doesn't publish an end date on any public page, so look at the product lifecycle notices in Informatica's support portal for your exact release. Either way Informatica is steering customers toward IDMC, and we plan the migration from a full inventory of the estate.
02What does the Salesforce acquisition mean for Informatica customers?
Salesforce completed the acquisition on 18 November 2025 and says it will integrate Informatica's integration, quality, governance, metadata and MDM technology with Agentforce and Data 360, while supporting Informatica's partner ecosystem. Your contracts and products continue. Watch for roadmap and licensing changes at renewal.
03Can we move PowerCenter to IDMC automatically?
Much of it, yes. Informatica's migration tooling converts standard mappings and workflows. What usually needs hand work is custom transformations, shell scripts around sessions, unusual parameter files and performance tuning on the new targets. We measure the split on a sample of your folders before quoting.
04Should we move to IDMC or to another tool such as dbt?
It depends on your team and targets. IDMC keeps a visual, governed model your PowerCenter developers already understand. ELT with dbt suits teams that work in SQL and Git. We compare both on a few real workflows before you decide.
05How long does a PowerCenter migration take?
It depends on the number of active workflows, how much custom logic they contain and how many target systems change at the same time. Retiring unused jobs first often shrinks the scope a lot. We size it after the inventory and a pilot wave.
06Can you provide Informatica developers?
We do. Certified PowerCenter and IDMC developers, administrators and data quality engineers can work onsite in the US, or nearshore and offshore across all time zones.
